Another pet peeve:
People who assume you're rich just because you live in Irvine. It's not my fault that I'm paying less to live in a detached house with a yard than you're paying to live in a tiny cramped apartment.
Conversely, people who assume that because you're not rich and live in...
pet peeve: selfish, oblivious drivers
for example, wanting to back out of parking space at Costco but can't because a giant SUV is waiting for space closer to the entrance despite there being plenty of parking further away. It doesn't matter that I blare my horn or pretend that I'm going to...
I love DonerG but I hated their location in Anaheim. Hopefully their kebobs will be a better fit for the Irvine Company so I won't have to drive to Anaheim and get accosted by junkies.
What does that mean exactly? Does it imply you can expect your kid to ace the MCAT, GRE or the GMAT and get in to the best graduate school only to find that he lacks adequate social skills to succeed and prosper in the real world?
I know a German woman from a super rich family who lives in a tiny apartment and can fix anything. She comes from a long line of mechanical engineers. I know a French man who can fit any kind of gay stereotype you can think of. He is helpless unless you have a kid who needs help with any kind...
If he didn't have a license, it's too bad the Irvine police didn't impound his car when they issued a citation.

I've seen tourists taking pictures outside of the Container Store across from South Coast Plaza, a group of Asian business men taking pictures outside of Bristol Farms near the Newport Beach library and a convoy of minibuses that looked like a motorcade doing a tour of Turtle Rock open houses. ...
I went to an open house in La Ca?ada the first weekend it was on the market and there was a line to go in to see it. Ten times more pushy people than I've ever seen at an Irvine open house. Two blocks away there was another open house that was in the Glendale school district. A much nicer...
There were rumors (maybe I read it here) that the infamous icicle gun murder at the formerly named Trabuco Grove shopping center was somehow Triad related.
We'll never run out of buyers. Before that happens the government will force banks to give million dollar loans to Walmart cashiers. They just have to promise to pay it back two hundred years from now.

When average rents in Orange County are $1600/mo, $16/hr doesn't get you very far. Of course, if you're single with no kids, there's nothing wrong with roommates.
I think Irvine has at least a half dozen new 7-11s opening. That doesn't bode well for the future of the city.
Too bad there aren't more bars, though. Irvine could use a few dozen more of those and some clubs where everyone can dance Gangnam Style.
It's a tough choice since they're the two best neighborhoods in Irvine. I would personally prefer University Park just on a gut level. Woodbridge is probably nicer though and in a better location in terms of being able to walk places. If I had a high school aged kid, I would definitely choose...
