Irvine 7th highest median income in US??

I think that in cities such as Santa Ana, Anaheim, and Garden Grove, there will be more foreclosures than in cities such as Irvine or Huntington. In those cities, a household's net worth is primarily based on its home value. Once it goes under, they have nothing to lose but their credit. In...

Where do you get your Ph??

Most pho places taste the same to me. So I mainly care about proximity, price, operating hours, and cleanliness. For proximity and price, I go to Pho Bac on Redhill by the 5 freeway. For cleanliness and late hours, I go to Pho Thang Long on Bolsa and Bushard. The key is try to order...

    Let's face reality!

Although rent is high in Orange County, it has remain rather steady for the past 10 years. Owning, on the other hand, had skyrocketed in the past 5 years. I can see why it would be a good idea to rent for the next 2-5 years - rent is much more affordable than owning. But I can also see...

    Killer Credit Card Rewards

Citibank gave me a zero percent zero fee BT for 6 months. I transferred 10K into my checking account, but don't know what to do with it. I'll likely just pay them back in 4 months. It does look nice to have an extra 10K sitting around in my bank account though.

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

I agree that English proficiency is vital for academic success. But there are many students who do not have a language barrier, yet still struggle in school. I think it has to do with poverty. I'm afraid many poor students do not believe in the value of a good education.

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

I think kids from Santa Ana, Anaheim, and Garden Grove have better intrapersonal skills. Being that they are deprived of trips, vacations, and material things... they are more reliant on hanging out in their neighborhood and socializing with friends. On the other hand, kids from Irvine or...

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

I agree. I had some Hispanic friends in college who basically got a free ride plus extra support and services. But in exchange, they were discriminated upon by others. Overall, I believe in helping the poor to succeed. Personally, I wouldn't want to live in Santa Ana, Anaheim, or Garden...

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

I think they started selling in April and are then sold out in June. I actually went to check out the models last month. Very spacious homes with decent sized lots.

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

Hey, Fountain Valley is simply in a pretty decent location. 1. It's not too far from the beaches of Huntington Beach. 2. It has a pretty decent park - Mile Square. 3. It's has great access to the 405 for commuting purposes. 4. It has a good school district. Huntington Beach...

    Sold-out development in Fountain Valley

I always thought that Fountain Valley was a desirable location. Centrally located within a good school district and not too far from the beach and Interstate 405. The only thing it was lacking was newer homes. If I had the money, I would buy a new home in Fountain Valley too. Irvine...

    Beach City Teardowns Continue

I like those new 3-story bungalows popping up throughout Huntington Beach. I think it's a great way to modernize the neighborhood.

    Opinion on Beckman High

I'm only familiar with public schools. From my experience, there are a lot values in going to a good one versus a bad one. But are private schools that much better than good public schools? I had always assumed that parents would send their kids to private if the nearby public wasn't so good.

Villages of Columbus - Columbus Square - Camden Place

Columbus Square is close to Redhill/Edinger. I think it's closer to an older, more middle class area - Tustin that is. And it's more situated on the old base. Tustin Field is by Edinger/Harvard. It's just across the street from Westpark. I can't even distinguish it from the rest of Irvine...

    Opinion on Beckman High

I guess we don't really mention private schools because kids can come from anywhere in the county to attend them. The public schools, on the other hand, help us understand the quality of the neighborhood. Although academics is a priority, I'm also rather impressed by facilities. Beckman...

    Opinion on Beckman High

Below is the list of O.C. high schools sorted by API scores (above 800) in decreasing order. Before that is a list of just Irvine/Tustin high schools. Although I think Beckman is a great school in a great area, I don't think it will get to the Uni or Northwood levels. University is a...

    Opinion on Beckman High

Beckman is in a great location and has very good amenities. Plus, it's more diverse then any Irvine high schools. I doubt its academic rankings will ever be on par with an Irvine high school, but it has a very good range of students. I think it's overall better than 75% of the OC high schools.

    What the HECK?! But...but...how?!

Sometime, timing and luck play pretty big roles in our life. Don't we all we wish we had bought something in 2000? But then again, aren't we all glad we didn't buy anything in 2005? That's just the way it goes, I guess. I think prices will bottom out by 2010. But then again, as long as...
