Northwood Estates

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Larry, several of us have watch many of your YouTube videos. Why did you stop? When are you going to start again?
Well, apparently my brain decided it needed a break from all the HOA drama. Believe it or not and I know that’s a stretch these days, there was a time when Mr. HOA and I were actually on civil terms. In fact, I even supported him. Yeah, I know… rookie mistake.
Meanwhile, he’s still busy running his little smear campaign against me and plenty of others, like he doesn’t already have enough fires to put out. I’ve always said justice moves at the pace of government paperwork: slow, tedious, but eventually it gets there. And for those lucky enough to be on the list, there are emails about him floating around. Most of them land in my junk box, but I have to admit, they make for some quality reading.
Oh, and just when you thought it was safe to surf the web again… my vlogs *might* be making a comeback. Emphasis on *might*.

Has the new board improved anything?
The 24-hour a day clanking of the spike strips at the exit gates has finally stopped and the never implemented "drop arms" were finally removed. Once after a power failure, the entire community was stuck behind the gates for two hours because "Mr. HOA's" company installed the drop arms backwards. This was probably how Irvine Code Enforcement became involved even though "Mr. HOA" has publicly accused my wife and I of reporting it. Irvine Police did come by that day while "Mr. HOA" pretended to have everything under control, but illegal is still illegal.

The unused and unpermitted spike strips remain, but are sinking into the ground due to impropper installation by "Mr. HOA's" company.

It should be noted that none of the Northwood Estates "improvement" projects were done to code. Now, in addition to all the lawsuits incurred under his reign, all of the work he voted for his company to do for Northwood Estates will need to be removed.

This is a requirement of the city and a direct result of his five year tenure as a board member. We will not be re-imburesed for this work. Did I mention we are missing quite a bit of money as well?

"Mr. HOA" was able to find crime where it had never existed before and hired his own company to perform hundred's of thousands of dollars of work that was both unnecessary and illegal. "Mr. HOA" even went so far as to manufacture a "HOME INVASION ROBBERY" in our neighborhood and later tried to connect the incident to me and my wife. The neighborhood will not be reimbursed for "Mr. HOA's" vanity projects or missing funds.

"Mr. HOA" was able to find the money to pay his company for 75 or so surveillance cameras to watch his neighbors, but has been unwilling or unable to release about four years of our HOA's financials after complaining of "decades" of mismanagement.

Inexplicably, board members that remain from "Mr. HOA's" time on the board appear to still be supporting him despite their being specifically named as defendants in the most current litigation. Board members who made it virtually impossible for my family to leave our home are now literally hiding inside their homes to avoid our process servers.

These are the same people who were willing to publicly make our lives miserable in order to merely “prove a point” for no discrernable reason.

As "Mr. HOA" once said, "it's amazing how much damage one person can do."

Wow...so is he finally off the board? That's what it sounds like. Northwood Estates is a really nice community, so hopefully things will improve. I can't believe all of this subpar work was done. I feel bad for all of you living there and having your money used in this way.

Yes, he is finally off the board, and the contract with his company has been cancelled. They have no other clients. He was removed or resigned from the board sometime last year.

The prior iteration of the board (through December 2024) helped him to award himself contracts. Another defendant disappeared sometime earlier this year. He swears she still lives here, but no one has seen her in about 6-8 months. Most of them appear to be in hiding.

All the people who tried to drive my family from my home of 21 years, the only home my son has ever known, are now trying to skirt responsibility for defaming a number of residents here and intentionally putting us in danger. All accusation put forth by (then) sitting board members on “official” forums.

Over the past two years, I have been publicly accused of trespassing, theft, being a nuisance, vandalism, intimidation, drunkenness, assault, interfering with vendors, being a white supremacist, and being the subject of a police investigation. All of these accusations were made without any underlying proof or supporting facts.

All of these accusations were made on his private “community” forum of 399 homes in our neighborhood. We were literally the only household of 400 homes specifically excluded from our HOA’s “community” forum. This was a boast by “Mr. HOA.“ This allowed all of our neighborhood to speak freely about us with no fear of reprisals. After a few years of knowing of this, we were finally able to get screenshots from other neighbors when he began to target them as well.

This man and these people arbitrarily decided WE were bad for the neighborhood despite no violations or incidents with ANY resident before HE moved in. He arbitrarily decided to crowdsource his harassment and stalking of my family to our entire neighborhood. While we begged for relief or help from anyone we could think of to ask, he chose to continue his campaign against us. He apparently even offered “rewards” to our neighbors for information he could use against us.

This lawsuit has nothing to do with free speech or punishing residents for espousing their opinions; this lawsuit is a direct result of six years of harassment by our board of directors, PMP, our community managers, and the residents who helped and encouraged them. I have no idea who half of these people are, but they know who we are.

Suing my own neighborhood, especially this neighborhood, is not something I would have considered even a couple of years ago. These people showed no signs of letting up. I have screenshots spanning years where our full names and likenesses are posted alongside his outright lies about us. They seem convinced we are bad for the neighborhood, and we are afraid to even walk past our corner. These people all seem to be willing to share their opinions about us without knowing us, speaking to us or even seeing us.

This lawsuit originates with one man and his strange fixation on my family. Everyone knew and nobody tried to stop him. We just wanted to be left alone.

Also notable, we have spike strips (installed illegally and improperly), speed bumps and dots (installed illegally and improperly), red curb paint (installed illegally and improperly), gates that are too tall with illegal spikes around the pool (installed illegally and improperly), about 75 surveillance cameras on three different networks that apparently went directly to his personal devices (installed illegally and improperly), traffic signage and stripes (installed illegally and improperly) that will ALL need to be removed per Irvine Code Enforcement.

The “drop arms” that trapped the entire neighborhood inside the gates a year or so ago (installed illegally and improperly) were removed last month. They sat idle for about four years. They were only active for maybe, a few hours. If an emergency vehicle needed to access our neighborhood, they would need to attend to the 10-15 cars parked and blocking each entrance. No one could come or go.

When the green and/or red lights on the aforementioned “drop arms” were activated, all the rooms on that side of our house would be illuminated either red or green depending on its position. When we complained we were asked to provide photos, when we did that, they asked for video. We were also told submariners would live under just red light for months at a time and had no issues with it. Unfortunately, I bought a house 21 years ago, not a submarine. This was of little concern to the (then) board of directors.

We are also in desperate need of slurry coats on our streets and paint for all the steel fencing that surround the neighborhood which has been in disrepair for years. These projects should have been paid for with our reserve accounts, but now we don’t appear to have the money.

What a nightmare. Sorry you had to experience all of this. I'm curious about PMP. Would you mind elaborating on PMP's role in all of this?
I’ve gone back to that last post and deleted their name as well as another company name. As I am now one of the litigants, I am hesitant to speak with specificity and thought better of it upon further reflection and our current board which contains three newly elected members

Also, naming our current management company isn’t really fair when in actuality, it was them and the prior three management companies as well. They are merely the most recent. They also continue to manage our association with new representation.

Our complaint is nearly 700 pages with exhibits. The causes of actions are about 100 pages, but detail stories of 10 individuals over the past six years.

I appreciate the comment.
