Once again...nothing to be done but prayers and thoughts

This is a complex problem that requires attacking from multiple directions.  I find it a little disturbing that people feel a need to make jokes about it.  Gun control is only one aspect.  The frustration these students feel is that literally NOTHING has been done.  You can both protect the...

Once again...nothing to be done but prayers and thoughts

What is the rationale for non-military/law enforcement owning an AR-15 type weapon, other than it's a very effective weapon?  The statistics on deaths caused by long rifles do not reflect that a single person with an AR-15 type weapon can kill many with very little difficulty.  The AR-15 is easy...

Take a listen to the Stuff You Should Know podcast, they have a good one on how modern landfills work.  Lots of other interesting stuff to listen to on your commute too.

    Orchard Hills - Pesticides

Most pesticides are neurotoxins that at low level exposure would likely cause more subtle effects. The article that movingtooc posted with the drawings is in children with heavy pesticide exposure. The other simply states that children who live in areas where pesticides are used are more exposed...

    Pre-drywall Walk-Through

IME, Brookfield was very responsive to having an outside inspector and addressed all the things he found. One of the Brookfield guys even hired the inspector to do work for a family member.

Orchard Hills - Capella by Taylor Morrison

Can't argue with you there, though I think at the higher prices owners might want to make their landscaping unique.  Taymo doesn't even give you a door to the side yard.  I think strada looks good right from the start because of the finished landscaping. I'm just too cynical about the builders...

Orchard Hills - Capella by Taylor Morrison

Wow you are a really drinking the kool aid.  I always thought they did that with homes where the setback was so small the price for doing the landscaping was less than the potential cost (in aesthetics) of letting owners do it. From what I've seen being cheap with landscaping is not an fcb...

    Beacon Park

That didn't take long. Don't worry your strada home is fine ( unless you bought tusd  ;D ) More home choices are good for everyone. I just don't like how TIC has convinced everyone that super small lots are normal for 1 mil+. "But you're walking distance to a nice park!"  Pssh.

WARNING: PS: Coyote Attack - 3 year old little girl

Takes a few generations, but it can be done.  The new wild coyotes that move would just eat the domesticated ones however. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domesticated_silver_fox

    Yulin Dog Meat Eating Festival

How about force feeding an animal a diet it can't digest then pumping it full of antibiotics so it can gain weight for slaughter 5 times faster than nature intended? http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/meat/interviews/pollan.html

    Yulin Dog Meat Eating Festival

If I were you, I would not read anything about how the meat you eat gets to your table.  I love dogs, but situations like what happened in charleston concern me more.

    Built-in Grills

The barbecues galore house brand is called turbo.  Used a Turbo built in at a rental for a year and my parents had a stand alone, I thought the build quality was poor and the uneven heating made them a pain to use.  Most of the more expensive brands (Firemagic, Lynx, DCS) are made in the USA. ...
