The "easy money" in gold was late last year/early this year when gold miners were selling at less than cash value. The market valued gold reserves at a negative value. I wouldn't scream victory at 5% either, but the 81% APY I'm at for 09 so far is less than depressing.
More than half of national debt is short term now, which it wasn't back in Volcker's time. An increase in rates would have a much more instant and devastating effect seeing as how most of the debt matures in less than a year. BB will do everything he can to keep short term rates down.
PENFED is great, but I had to pay $20 to join the national military family association and $5 to open an account to qualify. Other than that can't beat the rates, I got mine a little over a year ago at the 4.25% rate I R jealous of the 3.99%.

What and where is a good entry level hybrid bike? I tried the trek 7000 over at Jax on culver, it was a good bike, but I disliked the grip twist shifting. Any other good bike shops in Irvine that have more brands of entry level hybrids?
