[quote author="tmare" date=1258191994]My sister in law recently expressed her displeasure in finding out that a student in her child's class doesn't live in the attendance boundaries of her school district. She feels that she sacrificed greatly by buying a small house in the district for big money so that her kids could go to school in this district (no, not Irvine, but an equally regarded district not in the OC). She struggled for a week or so before deciding not to turn them in, but I was very surprised at just how angry she became. How does everyone else feel about this since most of you live in a highly regarded school district?</blockquote>
In elementary I used a friend's address. I originally attended and lived in the area for that school, but moved into a more expensive community in the same city and wanted to continue attending. So it's not always cause some kid is poorer. Also, I knew people who used fake addresses to attend certain high schools for sports.
Thinking back, I don't know why my parents didn't just ask the district to let me continue.
As long as the kid using the fake address isn't bringing down API scores, slowing down the class or being a horrible influence on all the other kids, I wouldn't care.
It's not always a bad thing. What would the West Beverly newsletter have been like w/o Andrea Zuckerman?
