Could SpaceX potentially offer cell service directly (competing with T-mobile, Verizon, etc)?

They offer some services in a partnership with T-mobile called T-Satellite.
I wish I could ditch T-mobile completely and I don't think Verizon and AT&T (or any of the MVNOs) are any better.

With the $17B purchase of spectrum from Echostar announced today, could we have an option to purchase cell service from SpaceX/Starlink in a few years?

Ah, the speed I get with T-mobile is great too but I can't stand the customer service, billing issues, complicated plans, etc.

I think in general things were great when John Legere took over at T-mobile. But he left over 5 years ago after the merger with Sprint was complete and it has been a steady decline since. It feels like they are following a Private Equity playbook.
