What makes Irvine so desireable place to live?

Wondering what makes Irvine so desireable place to live? With all new thousands of homes and apartments under construction, what you folks think? Would there be enough demand lol

The city has been an excellent steward of the city?s master plan, Le Blanc said.

?This is not just a bunch of tract housing, but a master plain that sets aside land for open space,? he said, adding that about a third of Irvine is open space, which enhances residents? quality of life.

Irvine has set the ?gold standard? for a planned suburb with all those things most people want ? good schools, public safety and recreational opportunities, said Joel Kotkin, Hobbs Fellow in urban studies at Chapman University.

Best schools in Orange County
Safest city in America (with over 100,000 people)
Lots of jobs in the city or nearby cities
Great weather
Not too far from ocean

Irvine has this huge marketing machine called THE IRVINE COMPANY.  haha  But seriously, the city is centrally located (Irvine has the most jobs of any city in Orange County), there's a UC school, master planned, an airport, lots of retail, very safe, etc....

There has to be some reason for paying obnoxiousaly higher price for small condos :)

TIC without a doubt is fantastic with marketing, I heard they even do presentations in China to attract foreigners :)

Reasons for the high prices = high demand

High demand = safe, highly rated schools, everything is new, master plan (Majority of communities have dedicated shopping centers), most jobs (just check the freeways in the morning, majority exists Irvine), UC Irvine, diversity (somewhat), and last but not least affluence. May not be as wealthy as Newport Coast but it still has a higher barrier of entry than most cities in OC.

So I pretty much repeated what everyone has said. But if you don't buy it, then try leaving in South OC or even the northern parts after living in Irvine. You'll eventually come back, they all do  >:D

You're right!  There are too many people, too much traffic, and too many homes.  Don't move here.
