Need help please. Seller for home lives in china was told they can't sell the home until they get a Tax ID. Wouldn't you need one to buy a home in Irvine in the first place?? seller actually has a loan through Wells Fargo for the house.do you not need a tax Id for a US loan??

It's as simple as filling out a form. Either you get a SSN if you are eligible or a TIN if you are not eligible for a SSN.

If their realtor told them they need a TIN are they THAT dumb they can't google how to get one?
