Loan from 401K to complete 20% down payment

That shotgun at her hip is very attractive to me.  The car and the girl, less so.  She is not wearing sufficient body armor (or at least protective clothing) to survive, and the car's cargo capacity is too small to carry supplies + 1-2 months of food and water.

If taking a loan from your 401(k) would enable you to move into your dream home, a house that you'd feel happy waking up in every morning, then yes, some things in life is more important than money, and feeling happy every morning is worth the price of paying back the loan.  But, if you're doing it just to keep up with the jones, then no, that's not a good reason.
