Laguna Altura homes

Portola Spring - Our friend bought a house there and they say that they can smell garbage from the landfill early morning and regret buying it there.
What part of community of Portola Spring?
If your friend smell the landfill early morning, could you lead to health problems down the road?
Does anyone have any concern on the landfill?

C?mon you know that?s not the case.
It?s Irvine, come clean.
You would buy there too if only the prices were a little cheaper.

IF YA SMELLLLLLLLELELELELELLLLL......

STUPID...... Health comes first
Landfill is risky but no one knows the future.
It's worth to buy a million dollars next closed to landfill 2 miles away.
The Field sale for 800k

I have several relatives fighting cancers living in the area around Schurr HS. There were 2 master planned communities in Montebello adjacent to the landfill. One is called Racquett Mountain and the other is Aspen built during the late 70s.

Do you guys know the landfill on the 60 east near Garfield?  It is closed now, but I remember driving by it back in the 90s and it was really bad.  The landfill is just a green hill now and doesn't smell at all.

Now I understand why ihs is so agitated and aggressive against landfills. It is getting personal and we all should be able to relate.

The problem is the pollution slowly contaminated the surrounding soil, water table and recycled water for irrigation that eventually made its way to the atmosphere and food on the table. Tap water there had more contaminants than other cities. Fresh water pipes infiltrated by tree roots allowed toxin to enter. other symptoms included declining water pressure. The biggest problem yet is the grey and milky water run off similar to the the Satelite photos posted. Waste water made its way to roots and up to the leaves. on trash days no one monitors the contents pick up and every bits of them ends up at the landfill.

I would rather live in VOC than living next to an active dump.

If these new homes are selling well, they will NOT even make the MLS

I seriously doubt the buyers are shills. One way or another, the homes got to be sold in the end, and if they are really shills, only time will tell if they are by waiting to see when and if they put the homes for resale. And I don't think TIC will stoop so low by using shill buyers to create the illusion of demand for the Cortonas? I'm pretty sure they are bonafide Cortona (Chinese most likely) buyers. The Cortonas are selling much better than the Sienna and San Remo tracts combined.

From dictionary.com:
shill? ?[shil]
noun
1. a person who poses as a customer in order to decoy others into participating, as at a gambling house, auction, confidence game, etc.
2. a person who publicizes or praises something or someone for reasons of self-interest, personal profit, or friendship or loyalty.
It wasn't the listings, this statement from you seemed shill-like:

If they were, they wouldn't need the help of the MLS to sell.

personally i dont think jamboreedude is a shill.  not everyone knows how builders operate and what it means when they post on MLS and when they dont.  regardless of them having to post on MLS and give a commission, something did change for their MLS listings for most of them to go pending or sell in last 90 days

the incoming flood of the Chinese FCBs (new California Gold Rush). It has to be.

I'm of the same opinion rkp... but usually an MLS listing is indicative of slow sales.

New homes in the past almost never hit the MLS unless they were already built, was standing inventory and/or the previous buyer fell out of escrow. I believe some of those MLS listings are for homes that are still under construction (only 60 Modena has pictures of the actual home).

I will admit, other than location, I prefer the floorplan of a Cortona 2 for $980k than any Quail Hill Olivos floorplan.
