How accurate is US News for High School?

There's talk about Irvine schools being top notch, but majority of them are ranked below the high school I graduated from in Georgia.

It would be convenient to have a list that ranks schools decidedly but really, the devil is in the details and the goalposts are always changing. This list also includes Magnet and Charter schools which might have qualifications that need to be met before a student can attend. The Irvine schools are well funded and do pretty well on the California list and are some of the highest on the list in Orange County:
