We're looking at homes in these area and possibly going to make an offer soon, could someone please recommend a good home inspection service for this general area.

one of the highest rated home inspectors in the area (placentia) on angieslist. In the last year, he's had 49 reviews, all reviews graded an A. He's been awarded the angieslist super service award in 2011, 2010, and 2009.

A couple of friends used him and had nothing but great things to say.

We used Steve from Bilt-Rite for our home inspection.
He is extremely meticulous, as well as knowledgeable and thorough.
Very professional, I highly recommend him.

Used him for my new YL home and he was great. Caught a lot of good things and as Woodbury said, VERY detailed and explains everything in detail.

BK had recommended Matt to me when we bought our new home in 2010 collection.
I would definitely recommend him to others looking for a home inspector.

That's exactly who recommended him to me years ago.

not to highjack the thread, but would you guys have a new house inspected? also how much would it cost apromiately to have a $2,100 sqft house inspected?

Yes, I would.
Costs run from about $250-500.
I've worked with all of the inspectors listed above and have not had a bad experience with any of them.
For me, the ~$400 would be worth it to me, even if they find nothing, for the peace of mind.

Agreed...I did it for a new construction. It gives you leverage for the final walk-through. My builder was great in the sense that they addressed each "concern" brought up in the inspection report.
