Decided to go here for dinner recently.  Kinda reminds me of True Food Kitchen in NB except better beer selection and no shigella food poisoning.  Happy hour is $2 off taps until 6pm daily.  Live band on Tuesday nights.  Outside seating is perfect for warm California weather and groups (kids!).

Had these two beers:

IPA was interesting, not just hoppy, almost perfumey like belgian-style.  Can't drink to much of this. One is good.  The dogfish brown ale was delicious.  Smokey, malty, coffee ale.  Gonna look for this brew.

Oh and the food sucked.  That's before two beers.  After two beers it was just ok.

Pork sandwich with onion rings, sandwich was dry, rings were forgettable

Wife's fig burger, it was ok, In N Out across the parking lot smelled and tasted better, only saving grace was the bacon, yum

Kid's corn dog lollipops, probably the best dish of the night, goes great with beer.  sweet potato fries are decent.

Come back? Yes, for the beer selection.  Fun with friends and kid friendly.  And if you get hungry, In N Out is nearby.

So the old bar place was better (forgot the name)?

It was a brewery no?  Or was it an Indian restaurant?  Either way never went there, we generally don't go to the UTC area, now we have Eureka! and Hadoken Ramen (though they've been getting 1 star yelps recently).

Yeah... the brewery.

I thought the Indian place was still open.

Have you tried the ice cream cookie place there? We were there opening weekend but it was too crowded.

Been there 4 times since the open, and food is hit and miss. Nachos are very good, oregano mustard vinaigrette dressing is really good as well.

Happy hour 7 days a week is rare.

They have 50ish craft taps, with half of them being $2 off during happy hour. A $5 Bruery Mischief is a great deal, as is a $5 pint of Sculpin. Dales Pale Ale (Oskar Blues) is $3 a pint all day every day.

This is not in the old Steelhead Brewing building, but across from it. Going into (part of) the old SB building is this place, which looks awesome:http://www.mendocinofarms.com/menu.html
