Changing Daycare

We are now in month 1 of new daycare. We took our son out of an Irvine Montessori school and placed him in a -gasp- non-Montessori school and it honestly has been the best thing possible. We thought his attitude/behavior were a result of the terrible 3s, but as it turns it, he just hated having to go to the old school.

So let this be a reminder to all parents that if your child is having issues, it might not be the kid, it may be the school is not right for them. Trust your gut feelings, we wish we did about 6 months ago.

I could write a paragraph about the problems we saw there - multiple teachers were suddenly fired/quit but they all left "due to a family emergency" (they literally had 6 teachers leave since December). The owner/manager would openly talk about other families and issues in front of everyone (I got to learn about boy X being a biter and family Y being late again on payments).

So many more issues, but I have to say we are more than happy to be done with that place.

Ahhh... so that's where they ended up.

Just some history here... this school used to be located on the former Marine base but when the Great Park project moved in... they had to move. I didn't know they found a new spot so I'm not sure how long they have been on Cartwright.

I toured their Marine base facility years ago along with their Newport Beach one and I was not impressed by either.

Just to clarify a point of possible confusion, the above schools are not affiliated with Montessori Schools of Irvine:

... the 4 schools in Northwood, Village, Westpark and University... who we have had a great experience with.
