I know a girl studying ESL at CSUF here on a student Visa from China.  She got a job washing dishes at a Chinese restaurant.  I didn't ask how much she was paid.

If she is being paid in cash under the table, most likely less than minimum wage.

Up in Hacienda Heights area there was a new restaurant that hired all pretty college girls as waitresses.  Many of them were here on student VISA and working illegally for cash + tips.  Soon the parking lot was packed with BMW's and Mercedes it looked like an Euro car dealership.  Some of the guys were leaving pretty big tips.

A few months later, only 1 of the original waitress crew remained, the rest were all gone & replaced by older staff.  I asked her WTF happened, and she said they all bailed with their new rich boyfriends.  LoL.
