Signed up for AHS, gonna try it out, 15 day waiting period so policy active is 7/21.  There's a $50 promo code 'NAR50' that takes about $4 off the monthly.  Did the 'pick 10' plan, got the major stuff.  Figure I can handle ceiling fans, smoke alarms, etc. myself.

I think the $50/mo for AHS (or whatever you chose) is a good price for peace of mind, esp if you are in an older home or even a newer home that isn't covered by the builder's warranty anymore.

I've replaced toilet valves/pumps before but it's much easier to pay a guy the $50 deductible to do it.
