Active traders, prepare to get the shaft from Washington DC

The Democrats want to place a .25% tax on every buy and every sell you make. Your gains just went down by .5% and your losses are now increased by .5%. (Or they will be once this bill is passed)

Figures, as if I don't pay enough on short term gains. I hope it doesn't pass, if it does, I'll see their .50% and raise them with less spending from me.

Thanks for spelling it out for me.

We have one party rule now. And the bill is being spun as a way to make "Wall Street" pay for the bailouts. You may as well start planning for this being passed now.

My biggest fear is that they do away with derivatives. I'm supportive if they decided to ban naked short selling. I don't think it should exist anyway. But talks have sprung up here and there to also ban derivatives.

That would be a living nightmare, and would severely cut my profits. So many strategies of mine are created by using various derivatives. I don't think it happens, but you never know with Nancy P. running the show. Because of her, I'm nearly read to jump the fence and be a Republican. I hate her more than I disliked Palin.

We are headed towards a level of regulation everywhere in manners that are unpredictable right now. Given the witch hunts that are just starting in Congress, I'll be surprised if elimination of derivatives is the end of changes you will see.

Or a nice 20/40 NL game at Hawaiian Gardens Casino. haha

I dont know why I was thinking earlier that I will get extra taxes for any gains I make...it is just now sinking in that waht you're saying is that I will be charged a fee in essenece to use my capital when I purchase, and then when I sell.

So if I make a trade of 1M I have to basically pay a fee of 2.5K, then another 2.5K when I sell? THen 5 minutes later if I use it again, I get another hit of 2.5K?

Am I reading this correctly? WTF? Are gun stores still open?

Yes you are reading this correctly. And as of yet, the 2nd amendment hasn't been repealed. But you better hurry...

Thats amazing. I tolerated many things and can tolerate many things. When you screw around with my trading, heads will roll. Being a new Republican is easier than I thought.

We are 4 weeks and 1 day into this administration. I hate to say this, but be prepared for your newfound belief system to be reinforced in the coming 204 weeks.

Wow, talk about killing our trading system. I bet this won't be applied to the big boys. Pretty much ever single small investor is going to be crushed out of existence. Wow.... talk about killing the golden goose....

As far as second amendment, uhhh you might want to stock up on both Ammo and firearms. It seem Kalifornia is getting jiggy with ammo tagging.

joy.

Ammo tagging? And... what is a good price on a *new* Browning Hi-Power 9mm?

About 950, 6 months ago it was 30-40% less.... Of course ammotagging will be raise the cost of ammo 300%. My already expensive large caliber ammo will be be somthing like $12 a round. Joy. Even cheapie 9mm will be .60 around or about 30$ per box of 50....

I would probably go with a 1911 in 9mm instead of a browning.... but that's just me. Or i'd probably get a H&K, G17, S&W M&P or Springfield XD9.... all of which are cheaper except for the H&K which is just under 1k.

good luck

Hmmm. So buy now or be priced out forever?

I have yet to hold a 1911 that felt comfortable in my hand, same with the Glock. The fit and feel of the Browning just makes everything else easier. Carrying cocked & locked makes things easier, too.

As for the ammo, no, i'm just bulking up before things become crazy expensive. Not quite the same as houses, when only one manufacturer has a lock on ammo tagging, it WILL raise the cost of ammo. Hopefully the morons upstate won't pass it....

30$ is hardly priced out, but expensive enough for me not want to purchase - and that is what the antigunners are all about. Even an adhock ban because of cost is still a ban in their book.

As for Glock, I know what you mean, but they just shoot so well, even though they are as exciting as toaster. For 1911, they fees just "right" for me. My next purchase is a S&W M&P in .45. I just finished purchase a HK UPSc in .45, this is to match the USPc in 9mm.

As far as taxes go though, it will get worse here also. It seem that CA want to raise the firearm DROS 100%. wow.... just wow.
