[quote author="Oscar" date=1235030528][quote author="biscuitninja" date=1235027560]About 950, 6 months ago it was 30-40% less.... Of course ammotagging will be raise the cost of ammo 300%. My already expensive large caliber ammo will be be somthing like $12 a round. Joy. Even cheapie 9mm will be .60 around or about 30$ per box of 50....

Hmmm. So buy now or be priced out forever?

I would probably go with a 1911 in 9mm instead of a browning.... but that's just me. Or i'd probably get a H&K, G17, S&W M&P or Springfield XD9.... all of which are cheaper except for the H&K which is just under 1k.
good luck

I have yet to hold a 1911 that felt comfortable in my hand, same with the Glock. The fit and feel of the Browning just makes everything else easier. Carrying cocked & locked makes things easier, too.

As for the ammo, no, i'm just bulking up before things become crazy expensive. Not quite the same as houses, when only one manufacturer has a lock on ammo tagging, it WILL raise the cost of ammo. Hopefully the morons upstate won't pass it....
30$ is hardly priced out, but expensive enough for me not want to purchase - and that is what the antigunners are all about. Even an adhock ban because of cost is still a ban in their book.
As for Glock, I know what you mean, but they just shoot so well, even though they are as exciting as toaster. For 1911, they fees just "right" for me. My next purchase is a S&W M&P in .45. I just finished purchase a HK UPSc in .45, this is to match the USPc in 9mm.
As far as taxes go though, it will get worse here also. It seem that CA want to raise the firearm DROS 100%. wow.... just wow.
