    Garage Epoxy

Thought I would share my new Garage Floor with you guys. Went with Premier Garage/Tailored Living, told them Zerolot from TalkIrvine recommended them. Chose Smoke color. Total was around $1550 for 20x20 garage with stem walls. Got a 5% discount from Angie's list.

    Garage Epoxy

I would love to hear about the pricing you got for your garage and closet! I am planning on doing the exact same thing in the next couple of weeks. I read previously that $1300 to $1600 is pretty normal for garage epoxy. Do these prices still stand a year later?

    CNN Article.

http://money.cnn.com/2013/07/08/real_estate/chinese-homebuyers/index.html?hpt=hp_t3 Some pretty awesome statistics regarding the number of Chinese real estate buyers.  Surprised they don't mention Irvine.

    New home upgrades

I think it is ridiculous that the builders charge you $150 to $200 per can light and just about any contractor will charge you only $60 to $100 per light. It is so hard to justify doing anything with the builders...

    Shutters

I would definitely recommend goldenwest for smaller jobs. A difference of $4 on 75 sqft is only $300. That is not that bad. Just tell him to knock off a couple hundred to make the deal. He'd probably do it.  They seem to have the best craftsmanship.

New Irvine house with small lot size

Replace your HOA cost with the nominal cost of a gardener.  Just purchased a home in fountain valley, 2600 sqft, 6500 sqft lot, driveway, large roads, nearby park in community, and 5 miles to beach!  Only $745k! Sure it is old but nothing a $100k Reno budget can't solve.  You know, all the...

First time buyer - need advice

There are more and more people just like you.  Half of you will feel like you have to rush and get in before things get out of hand because you think that you will never be able to afford anything ever again and half of you will just rent and wait.  ?Be Fearful When Others Are Greedy and...

First time buyer - need advice

Irvine and the rest of Orange County are two very different conversations. Are you okay with elsewhere in the OC? Or are you focused on Irvine?

    Built-In and Media Niche

When you are painting it white, you want the cheapest wood that is not particle board.  Simply because good wood is used so you can stain it and show off the natural lines in the wood. When painting white, you don't need good wood for the builtin.

I am also currently in the process of getting quotes for my built-ins.  I have gotten estimates from several people already and I got most of them from Angie's List.  Also got a quote from Cabinet's Plus.  Everyone below got an A rating on Angie's plus and had at least a few reviews.  Some had...

    Investment clubs

Not sure that investment clubs are all that necessary anymore.  With ETFs, investing is 100% easier than it was 6 years ago.  In the past it was required to have a decent amount of money so you could diversify your holdings across several different stocks and industries.  Not true anymore, you...
