@jmoney, the rims were the most expensive, had to be really careful driving around with them, heard they would crack (not bend) if hit hard enough.  We learned our car buying lesson from that one bad experience.  Some Chinese Viet guy that worked at Honda World in Westminster.  He made a killing on our deal.  Almost as bad as buying a Saturn.

I never got the exhaust, already got plenty of attention from Irvine PD with my 2" drop, even got my first fix it ticket, on Barranca pkwy in front of Wamu.

Oh man, I didn't realize the lot of you were rice rocket pilots in a previous life!  This is bringing back memories...oh, the memories...  ;D

Looking back, it was a complete waste of time and lots of money.  But it was fun,  then came vin diesel and fast&furious when the 1/4 mile took a minute to finish...

If I answer this question, it will reveal my age.

All I can say is that my first two cars were Japanese... but not rice rockets.

age is just a number.. unless you're really old ;) j/k

PS9.. those were some fun days.  Funny when I look back.. man all the things I did were quite annoying.  Being an Irvine dad now has changed me.

@IHO

I'm gonna guess Suzuki Samurai or maybe the Chrysler Town and Country with the wood grain, wait that's not Japanese, maybe Toyota Previa?

The T&C isn't Japanese.

I didn't drive a minivan until we had our first kid.

I did try to tint my cars myself... looked like bubble wrap on my windows. :(

In 15-20 years you're gonna look back to 2014 and think, man was I annoying as an Irvine dad :)

So you had the purple bubbles tint?  Love people who sacrifice visibility for looking like a cheap idiot

Had an AE86 GTS Corolla before Initial D and before all that stupid hype came out.  I bought it for $750 of the penny saver from an old japanese guy that delivered tofu at night.

I then went through like a gazillion cars and now I drive a toyota yaris.

Nissan Stanza Wagon, ftw.

Nickname: "The Duck"

On my back window, using the razor to trim the tint film, I accidentally cut one of the defroster "sticker" lines. So whenever I defrosted the window, the middle third would not defrost... that was my first new car so I was sad about that (and when you're in high school, you are a cheap idiot).

How's this for young stupid, I painted my taillights candy apple red, now no one knows when I back up!  Scared a lot of people

I used black pin striping tape on my back lights so they looked striped when lit... I was LED looking before LED was primetime!

I bought a used 94 Toyota Supra a year after I graduated college.  That thing was sweet!
