Where can I find GOOD affordable sushi in Irvine???

I think it is criminal to call a Philadelphia roll sushi.

To answer the question you want to go to Tustin to find better values on sushi. It isn't happening in Irvine.

Good Sushi:

Sushi Shibucho

590 W 19th St

Costa Mesa, CA 92627

(949) 642-2677

Just sit and order omakase.

Cheap Sushi:

Shun Fat Supermarket

15440 Beach Blvd

Westminster, CA 92683

(714) 891-6288

Enter supermarket, look to the left for the sushi stand. It's freshly made and cheap, but don't expect high quality.

I like the lobster roll at Goro Sushi on Culver/Alton near albertsons. Hit or miss with their other stuff.. I think they are actually Japanese owned Japanese restaurant.. a rarity these days in Irvine..

Inexpensive Sushi is kind of an oxymoron.

Affordable ? Well lets see.

Your better off at Todai in Orange or the Sumo Place on Culver.

Its Buffet. But that will keep your price minimal.

Better yet go to the Benihana in Newport by the Airport.

Thats REAL close to being Irvine. I think they still have an All you Can Eat

Sushi Menu for Lunch and Happy Hour. And the Quality there will be good.

Sumo has been out of business for a while.

We go to Sushi Time over on Walnut and near Tustin Ranch Road (go over Jamboree and down a few lights - it's on the left hand side)

They have all you can eat, authentic sushi for 20 bucks. They have a sushi bar area. Service is friendly and the food is always fresh and very good quality. We have not been disappointed.

I noticed that it got very mixed reviews over on yelp:

Maki Maki in the Spectrum is a great deal. They actually added metal staples to my roll -- free of charge. I can't wait to return.

I second Sushi Time over on Tustin Ranch and Walnut.

It's not the best sushi I've ever eaten, but it's decent and certainly cost effective.

sushi boy!!!! there's 2 location in irvine, Its very affordable because its considered "fast" sushi. The quality is on par with some non owned Japanese sushi places.

My wife and I enjoy the sushi place on Jeffrey near Trabuco in that center... I believe its next to the Fatburger. They have been having great discounts lately. Nothing like getting 2 people STUFFED on sushi for under 20 bucks. Excellent meat cuts, too/
