The 7 C's have had their own close calls this summer. Anyone else have a story to share?

Thanks Prof, good article...

I have never had a problem in Irvine as far as I remember, this is one of the best Cities' to ride, if not the best...the majority of Drivers seem to really be careful around Cyclists but then again, I always try not to hold them up...

I think as long as we all ride safely and predictably we shouldn't have a problem, although there's always that chance...

Prof, the Olympic Women's Road Race is on NBC today. I've watched the small bit of footage they've had so far...cannot believe that Jeannie Longo is still at it...at age 49 ! I'm sure she'll school more than a few whipper snappers.

It's raining up in the mountains, that sux.

Troop, did you see the crash where the Korean ended up in the Drain?

I can't believe Longo is still competing at that level, mind you, I've ridden with Guys in their 60's and 70's who have no problem kicking my Arse, mind you, that's not saying much :eek:hh:

Great Britain won the race, I was surprized to see that some Countries, such a Belgium, only had one Team Member...

Methinks the 7C's Babes should compete in next years Olympics...

PINEAPPLE!!

Yes Peter, I watched the finish ! Congrats to GB ! She gave it her all....even after being left out of the little pack there on the last turn.

I also saw the Korean crash....I played it over a few times in slow motion on the DVR. Looks like she lost traction and veered left while over-correcting. Can't believe she didn't break something going into that culvert !

Why didn't the peloton reign in that breakaway group ? Jeannie got left in the dust with them.....

Apparently, there were 3 crashes Troop, Krysti Armstrong went down in one of them, I think the weather was on Team GB's side, they're used to riding in the rain...

I'm not sure why the Peleton didn't reign them in, it looked like the breakaway were working together as they should...

I'm sorry I missed the mens' race yesterday, apparently it was pretty good...

Yeah, the men's race was good too....but right before the final segment was going to air, NBC did a commentary....and in the background were pics of some of the various athletes. Right behind the head of the announcer was the rider from Spain, sinking his teeth into the gold medal....so they BLEW IT ! I knew who won before the finished aired ! Bummer.

Here's the finish....in Spanish. Now these announcers are getting into it !

Not sure traction was lost. I'll bet it was a front-tire clashing with someone else's rear when someone made a lateral move.

I hate hate hate pack riding.

Thanks for the clips Troop, I watched it six times and it looked as if she was riding sideways?

Poor Girl, I heard there were 3 crashes and Armstrong lost Her chain which put her out of the race...
