United to restrict low-fare flyers to one carry-on bag

United said customers who bought its cheapest fares would not be assigned seats until the day of departure, meaning people on the same ticket may be split apart.

United will also prohibit these travelers from carrying on bags that can only fit in overhead bins, and they will not accrue miles toward elite status.

lol man I hate united.  I mean if you're one of their members.. they have like 50 memberships before they call for general boarding.

When one big airline moves, usually the rest follow. I really hope the rest don't follow and United has to back track. This is ridiculous.
