This is the first year that IUSD is having Transitional Kindergarten classes. Our little guy is considered a "young 5 year old" whose birthdays fall between September 2 and December 2. But due to the staggered (ie limited budget) implementation, he wasnt eligible/requried to attend TK (he can go directly to kindergarten).
We are actually fine with that since we were going to give him an extra year of pre-school in any case. No sense in rushing him off to 30+ kids in kindergarten right? But im curious to see if anyone has started the year-round Westpark TK program and what they think of it? Seems like a good program overall but was curious about the differences between that and "standard" kindergarten.
