The most ostentatious house in all of the OC

no thanks nsr, that is a more realistic price but like I said this neighborhood supports 300K homes in a non-bubble market. We are all blinded by the "deals" when we compare prices to the bubble times. I work in the area so I wouldn't mind purchasing in Garbage Grove while sending the kids to private schools, however I refuse to pay 500K for a fixer-upper. Across the street from this area there are some newer homes built in 2000. One in particular was bought in 2006 for 850K, bank took it back for 680K, listed it for 634K and a knife catcher flipper physician bought it for 630K and now has it as a For Sale by owner at 720K. I think this guy was blinded by the "bargain" when he saw the quick drop in price. He may be lucky and find himself a greater fool, but I doubt it. I'm waiting for him to drop under 600K. Even then it would probably depreciate further, but it would be Ok in my case b/c I would be willing to live there.
 
I actually drove by the Garden Grove house last week. It has another house just like it next door. There are actually quite a few nice, updated homes in that neighborhood. Not all of them, but it's not a bad-looking neighborhood either.
 
Cayci, It's also a neighborhood the border the Katella/Harbor intersection. Home of Tragic Kingdom. Borders Anaheim.

I'm simple, $2.2M homes don't really belong on the same street at a $500K fixer, which as Penn pointed out, really is a $300K home once fixed.

This neighborhood may be relatively nice, but overall, it is nestled in or on the border of a fairly needing gentrification area.

Penn, we think mostly alike.
