Tablas Creek Vineyards will be having a tasting at Hi Times on Sat May 9th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. This is our favorite winery up in Paso. They specialize in Rhone style wines, but they do also have a wonderful Vermentino. One of the things that I love about them is the variety of outstanding whites. They are a partnershp with the Perrin family and Beaucastel in Chateau Neuf de Pape. All the vines have been brought over from France and they thrive in Paso's west side. Combine great grapes with fantastic winemaking and you have a real winner

I got an e-mail indicating that they had given us the wrong date for the tasting. It's actually the 9th, not the 16th as I had originally posted.

I will see if some friends will join me. Even if they don't, and I know you will be there, then I might join anyway. Cayci is off dealing with bridezilla, so it will just be me. Maybe Eff will be down.

These truly are some of the most outstanding wines! They are carrying 8 of their wines at Hi Times and some of them are priced even lower than the VINsider price that gives a 20% discount. What I enjoyed the most this evening was the Counoise and lucky OCers', they are carrying it at Hi Times, even though it is supposed to be a winery only.

The website talks about the '05, but it's the '06 that is at Hi Times. Drink now for a special treat with anything grilled.
