Rep. Katie Porter?s university housing deal draws scrutiny

If it's true that there are over 250 academics and administrators on the waitlist for the subsidized housing that she lives in, then the optics look bad for her since it runs contrary to the persona she is trying to impress on her constituents.  Sadly, history has shown that many politicians not only succumb to greed and self-entitlement; but put their own interests ahead of the public in general.  It is a problem that plagues our political establishment in DC.

Considering the price you?re allowed to sell it for is limited, she probably would have been better off if she had been forced to sell and then buy a home at market price when she was elected to Congress in 2018.
