Question on Renting Apartment

I am currently looking to possibly lease at:

1) Mirasol

2) Palmeras

3) Esperanza

4) Portola Place

5) Orchard Hills

Any comments (Pros/Cons) on these 5 apartment complexes? Which one of these apartments can i get the best deal for a lease?

I don't know about the others, but the mini u storage near the market place might be having a small storage unit available in about a month or so! :lol:

Panda --- It appears you are listing only the most recently built IAC communities (<2 year old)? Is there a method to this madness? Have you considered looking at some of the older but updated communities? You noted on an another thread that you are leaving a 2,500 sq ft house in Chicago --- so why would you limit yourself to the new IAC communities --- none of which offer more than 2 beds, and most of which are stacked condo style? Why not look at something like Santa Rosa in Westpark, which offers 3 bed townhomes up to 1,450 sq ft with an attached two car garage?

Santa Rosa - Craigslist

While this particular community was built in the mid-late 90's, it and all the IAC communities have been (or are in process of) being updated to the same interior template --- they all look pretty much the same inside, new or a little older. Further, IMO the 80's - 90's communities are FAR superior in terms of grounds....they all have a lot of green space and trees. Visit any one of the brand new communities and you will find they are all concrete and packed in like sardines. Not to mention the location of the newer communities are generally more central. For instance, at Santa Rosa you are 2 minutes from either The District or Diamond Jamboree (24 Hr BCD Tofu House! H-Mart!).

My wife and I looked at pretty much every single rental in irivne and surrounding areas over a 4-5 month span. Orchard Hills were by far our favorite. I'm lazy to write details as to why, but go check it out if you haven't already. They are really nice.

Then again, you will have to live where I live...that might be bad ;)

If i decide to buy in Irvine... it is going to be in either Woodbury, Northwood II, or Portola Springs. The location of Mirasol, Palmeras, and Esperanza would be perfect for home shopping while taking a morning jog.

If you have a family, maybe you can also check out Woodbury Place. They have detached townhomes.

What can i say BethN, I must give all the credit to the wonderful IHBloggers who gave me the advice on how to lose 20lbs.

1) Subsitituted my Star Bucks latte factor with Korean tea "Bo Re Cha"

2) Eat like a king for breakfast, medium size lunch, and small dinner at 6pm and don't eat for the rest of the evening.

3) Cut the ramen noodles and junk food.

The fat started to melt away from Panda's fat belly :)
