QR Code use in China

From BBC China correspondent on iphone plant run by Foxconn in China. Workers' QR code switched to yellow to discourage them from leaving plant:
"Workers have broken out of #Apple’s largest assembly site, escaping the Zero #Covid lockdown at Foxconn in #Zhengzhou. After sneaking out, they’re walking to home towns more than 100 kilometres away to beat the Covid app measures designed to control people and stop this."

Thank You

Bank depositors' QR code turns red to dissuade them from protesting:
"A protest planned by hundreds of bank depositors in central China seeking access to their frozen funds has been thwarted because the authorities have turned their health code apps red,...Liu, who declined to give his full name for fear of government repercussions, said his child may not be able to go to school if his code does not soon revert to green."

Uhhh, just because the CCP's lockdowns are evil beyond belief, doesn't mean lockdowns here weren't draconian still.
You don't seem to understand the word LOCKDOWN. As NSR said, the US never had a lockdown. Even during the stay at home period (March to June, 2020), we still could go out at will. We actually had the privilege of working from home instead of HAVING TO come into work.
