The new conditions were scheduled to be added to the restricted activity section of the PayPal User agreement effective November 3, the Daily Wire first reported. Changes included prohibitions on the sending, posting, or publication of any messages, content, or materials that promote misinformation." https://news.yahoo.com/paypal-policy-permits-company-fine-143946902.html

Puts are going to pay off bigly on this one.

Won't be surprised if it just goes down like FB did.

Hubby just told me finance called him and 60 transactions for his nonprofit were cancelled today........ all from paypal.

They are calling the donors and each one is reissuing with direct credit card payments but so far they have all said they cancelled their paypal accounts.

And they are a small company. Tic toc........... going to be a huge problem for paypal is my guess.

wait a second, paypal is limiting donation to non-profit now? are those non-profit on the right side of political spectrum?

No, people are cancelling their own payments.  All platforms practice de platforming groups that are viewed as problematic.

Interesting thought exercise, it?s 1930, Germany, the internet, Twitter, PayPal and Facebook exist.

What are the appropriate interventions those companies should use with the birth and rise of the Nazi party?

Some but the company gets lots of recurring donations (like if you donated to your church on a weekly/monthly basis type thing).

Real problem for them. They are small and now they have to contact every donor who had a cancelled donation to see if they still wish to donate and if it continues it's just going to snowball.

When paypal was just starting out, maybe 20+ years ago, I considered them an evil company and I think they may have made it to most hated or mistrusted company at that time (since then they turned themselves around to be one of the most trusted).

They would lock people's accounts with lots of money in it and wouldn't respond to the account holder as to why or what they had to do to get it reinstated and their funds unlocked. They would pull money out of checking accounts for cases that were opened even when tracking showed something was delivered and then the account holder would end up with lots of bounced check fees.

I used to keep money in my paypal account and pay for things I bought on ebay with the balance but it got so bad I was worried they might lock my account for unknown reasons so I eventually withdrew my money soon as I got it.

Must have lost court cases because eventually they stopped all that horrid behavior.

Soon as I saw this news, I thought....... still an evil company! lol!
