A friend of mine was asking me if I knew of any good gastropubs around here. I've never been to one but I figured some here might have recs. Let me know!

Off topic: As for my winner of restaurant week, <a href="http://www.oldvinecafe.com/">I highly... I mean... I really highly recommend Old Vine Cafe</a>. They have a tasting menu that includes wine at very nice price point. They also have a veggie tasting menu that sounded yummy to this carnivore. The service was spectacular and our waiter was a soon to be SLO oenology student. He knew his sh*t. I even stumped him like I did BK, but he came back with a reasonable response. If you love a great sauce, this is the place to go. I can't wait to go back and try their seasonal menu, and try it again with the seasonal change.

The Crow Bar is pretty good. Nice selection of beers and decent food. I've found that the kitchen is not super consistent on their preparations. Also, I'm not a huge fan of the crowd there, but your experience will vary. The downstairs area is pretty cozy. It deserves props for having Pliny the Elder on tap and I do like the chorizo flatbread.
I haven't made it to Haven yet, but it is definitely on my list. They are on Stone's distribution list so the beer should be at least decent.
