By the way, the Traditions restaurant by Pascal is very good. Anyone have recommendations for the others on the list?
 
Pescadou is a total winner. Probably my favorite restaurant in the area as it's not too pricey for what you get, food is always great, fantastic wine list and the service is wonderful.
 
Il Farro's decor isn't too impressive, but they do have pretty good and affordable italian food. I have a few friends that were born in Italy, and they think its pretty good food. Someone asked a while ago about risotto. They have some "farro" dishes that are similar to risotto, and very good. There is one with saffron that is really good.

Went to The Cannery for dinner. I priced out the appetizers, entrees and desserts we ordered from the regular menu and it totaled $116 for the 2 of us. We paid $70 total (plus tax & tip, of course) so it was a pretty good deal. And we weren't made to feel like 2nd class citizens because we ordered off the special menu. In fact we had a prime table on the patio overlooking the water.
 
I am quite annoyed! I went for my 40th bday on Tuesday with my husband to Sage restaurant for lunch. At no point did the server tell us it was Newport Beach dining week. What my husband and I ordered were very similar to the appetizer and one of the entree salads offered on their fixed menu choices shown in the link- and of course we paid a lot more money!
 
A big thank you to the OP for this topic, we tried out three restaurants this week, the Buddha, the Dublin Pub and Harborside, great food and great ambiance, went to places we normally would not have heard of, and the prices were like ordering an entree and getting the appetizer and dessert for free. THANKS! We plan to take advantage of this every year.

i went last yr to cannery and remembered the thing was the size of a baseball. i love a good crab cake, esp this time of yr when its fresh and not canned.
