New high school at the Verandas in VOC - Columbus Square?

Replying here to SoCal78 about why I thought that there was going to be a new high school built at the VOC/CS.

From the F.A.Q. (http://www.tustinlegacy.com/article.cfm?id=60) from the www.TustinLegacy.com site (last updated March 2007):

1. What schools are proposed in the Master Plan for the Tustin Legacy project?

The Master Plan currently shows two 10-acre elementary schools and one 40-acre high school site. However, the City does not control decisions regarding the financing and construction of schools. Those decisions are within the authority of the Tustin Unified School District. You may contact the District at (714) 730-7339.

In addition to local schools, the Tustin Legacy Plan provides sites for the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD) and the Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD). SOCCCD is currently completing Phase 1 of their project associated with the proposed Advanced Technology Education Park. RSCCD is currently completing a law enforcement training facility that will be opened in the summer of 2007.

Also, the Tustin Legacy specific plan map shows where there are three elementary schools and one high school planned. (http://www.tustinlegacy.com/article.cfm?id=45)

The info seem to be old. Quick check of the elementary and high schools for the Verandas residents would be a definite deal breaker, even if the price is decent for the current market.

I called TUSD (714) 730-7339 and asked if they were going to build new schools at Tustin Legacy. The woman said that they are building the Heritage Elementary school there (K-5). The estimated opening is Fall 2010. Currie will still be the middle school and Tustin the high school for those residents. Tustin is being renovated. No specific plans about a new high school there.

Heritage School (grades K-5) at Tustin Legacy is scheduled to open in the fall of 2010.
