Here is the situation,



I have a best friend who is white whom i've known since high school. He is smart, ambitious, good looking, and very personable. He's has a great career with a great future.



One problem: He is only attracted to asian women.



I told my friend that he could be married by now if he would be more open to dating white women, but he would respond, "that he is just not attracted to them" My wife and I would try to set him up with some of her asian single friends, but after a while they would admit to us that they would prefer to marry an asian man and their parents would disapprove of dating and marrying a white guy. My best friend is truly a diamond in a ruff, just haven't been lucky. The asians girls that he is interested in are only interested in marrying asian men.



So why am i writing this post in the Irvine Housing forum, well with Irvine's demographics of 50% white and almost 40% asian. I am sure that there are quite a few caucasion men living in irvine who are married to quality asian women, and went through the same struggles my best friend did while pursuing a an asian girl? I would love to hear your stories. Being a happily married asian american myself, I do not know how to give my best friend the best advice.

As a matter of fact, I had never dated Asian and she had never dated a white guy before each other. We met at work, dug each others personalities and went on a date. Rest is history. <p class="MsoNormal">As a friend, you need to help rid both him and yourself of the misconception that asian chicks are looking to date and marry only asian guys. Because that simply isn’t the case. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal">If anything, Irvine has stockpile of below average looking dudes pulling hot asian chicks. These same guys wouldn't stand a chance with Barbie from Newport.</p>

Initially, the guy just needs to get out there, step in the fire and meet chicks without the expectation or burden of landing his future wife. Those expectations create enormous pressure which like CK said prevents you from attaining the desired result.

No offense, but if he IS the "catch" that you make him out to be, he'd already have an Asian or Asian American wife by now. The Asian women outmarriage rates in the US range from 30%-60% <a href="http://www.asian-nation.org/interracial.shtml">depending on ethnic group</a>. Either he is REALLY UNLUCKY or he is not as advertised. Are you sure he wants to settle down?





Does he want an Asian American woman (raised in the US) or an Asian woman (not raised in the US)? Or is that not a preference? Unfortunately, I don't think this matters - according to you, he explicitly excludes white women from being candidates... not like this yellow fever afflicted guy:
