Mud Run October 2008

What's the Mud Run? I'm not from the Irvine area but I have family in Newport Beach and I'm always looking for fun races to run. Can you post a link to their website? I'm hoping to attempt my first marathon this fall and the Mud Run might be a good training run.
 
Oh wow - I didn't know there was one in october - we're signed up for the one in June at Camp Pendleton! Should be fun (and challenging...and messy).

There was a discussion of the mud run on the marathon thread. That should give you

a feeling for the IHB position on mud. ;-)

For those of you who have done it can you give me an idea of how much slower your time is for a run such as this versus a normal 10K time?
 
I'm thinking about doing the mud run. Any excuse to feel like a kid again and get up to my eyeballs in mud...



Whats the deal with pendelton's mud run though, is there one or two per year? Their website lists one as "official" and the other as asymc. JUne = sold out.
 
The Mud Run will be featured on tonight?s episode of Workout.

It looks like only the male trainers will participate.

Too bad, was dying to see Jackie in a sports bra covered in mud and soaked in water.

Great show!

Thanks for the thought, but I'm afraid Jackie would snap me in half. :p Or her girlfriend would bite me..... What a couple. Very entertaining t.v.
 
I met Jackie in LA one night, she was quite intoxicated and seemed to be overly confident of how "famous" she was. I still like her and love the show, we've all had too much to drink before, maybe that's why she was so snooty...maybe not?



I tried to register for the run. Spaces filled up too fast--very popular event
