This is priceless given what the right wing has done to Al Gore with their distortions on his involvement with the early Internet. Following that same logic one can only conclude that McCain claims that he has invented cell phones, WiFi and Blackberries.

"I am the former chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation. The Committee plays a major role in the development of technology policy, specifically any legislation affecting communications services, the Internet, cable television and other technologies. Under my guiding hand, Congress developed a wireless spectrum policy that spurred the rapid rise of mobile phones and Wi-Fi technology that enables Americans to surf the web while sitting at a coffee shop, airport lounge, or public park."(McCain)

"He did this," Douglas Holtz-Eakin (one of McCain's senior advisers) told reporters this morning, holding up his BlackBerry. "Telecommunications of the United States is a premier innovation in the past 15 years, comes right through the Commerce committee so you're looking at the miracle John McCain helped create and that's what he did."

This was an obvious joke that one of McCain's aide made about the fact that the GOP candidate is computer illiterate.

Here's a POV. Any business owners out there willing to hire someone who is PC/Mac illiterate for their business?

Why would Americans want to appoint someone who is out touch with the 21st century? And for those who want to defend McCain's inability to use a PC because of his injuries, I have two words for you.

Stephen Hawking.

The old man McCain is selling the sheeple lies and creating his legacy as running the most sleezy deceitful Presidential campaign in American history. Maybe he can trademark deceit.

Better than Obama claiming it's the Democrats who can fix the finance rules to save the economy - wasn't Bill Clinton the one who dealt the final death blow to the Glass-Stegall act (legislation enacted after financial schenanigans caused the Great Depression, which prevented a repeat for many, many years until Clinton did away with it?). In which case, the Dems are the ones who planted the seeds of this mess.

Am I hearing you right in saying that Republicans are the ones in favor of more regulation??? Are pigs flying?

You might also want to look up who Phil Gramm is.

McCain wants to regulate and degregulate...hell, whatever you want he'll do. Anything to get elected. The old man has sold his soul. Sad end to his legacy.
