Looking for a Monastery or Hermitage

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Boy that sure sucks.

Saddleback Church has a retreat center off of Avery Parkway and the 5. They may not allow overnight stays.

Calvary Chapel has the Murrietta Hot Springs Retreat Center.

Don't know what church affilliation Forest Home (San Bernardino Mountains) is but they also may have spots.

There is a Catholic Monastery off of El Toro by Cooks Corner.

There is a Krishna sect off of Live Oak Canyon. Not sure what either places policies are for temporary guests.

Out of the area there's the YMCA Camp of the Rockies in Estes Park - secluded, cost effective, and open during the winter.

Don't know what you're looking for in terms of spiritual comfort, but there are good local resources available.

Best,

I just got laid off last week and am looking for a monastery or hermitage for a short (few days to a week) stay, before looking for my next gig.  So far I've researched one:http://articles.latimes.com/2010/dec/18/local/la-me-monks-fruitcake-20101218http://www.contemplation.com/retreats.html

If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears!
Sorry to hear that Momo, I can't believe it's happened to you twice in the past few years.  Keep your head up and stay positive, I'm sure something will pop for you soon.

I am sorry about your job, Momo. Maybe you could post what line of work you are in just in case anybody here might know of a job opening coming up in the area. Enjoy your time off and don't forget to give us some updates on how it goes.
