<em>"John Lautner (1911-94), one of the most important and influential architects of the twentieth century, had a remarkable career spanning nearly six decades. Residing and working in Los Angeles during much of that time, his designs are known for their radical innovation with specific attention to materiality, space and a consciousness of the natural environment."

I love Lautner. Especially the Chemosphere. Brian De Palma filmed his gruesome horror softcore flick "Body Double" here. The scene was drilling through a woman and floor and blood was leaked out under the floor. People say this house is haunted but non the less its 360 degree panoramic view has inspired countless movie sets. His Silvertop at Silverlake is another one of my favorite. He was Frank Lloyd Wright's disciples from Taliesin and only one of the few who created his own identity in architecture. He designed numerous homes in Palm Springs.
