If anyone is interested, I'm doing a Korean BBQ run this Sunday (6pm) at Hwarosarang in Buena Park:

Hwarosarang

8552 Beach Blvd

Buena Park, CA 90620

This restaurant used to be Captain's Thai Food but has since been converted to a Korean BBQ. It's a little hard to find, drive along Beach Blvd south of Knotts Berry Farm and look for a Ken Crane's, the restaurant is behind it.

Estimated damage should be ~$30 per person, depending on how much you eat and what you order. I do NOT recommend the "combo for 2" on the menu due to its inferior meat selection. Order your (better) meat dishes individually and ask for marinated meats cooked over square wire-grill and not flat iron. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look here:

The waitress will bring the uncooked meat to your table, and you cook it over the grill to your preference. Due to close proximity to fire/grill on each table, I'd suggest caution if you have small children. Also, since the meat is cooked at your table, your cloths will smell like BBQ afterwards. If memory serves each table will seat 4-6 people.

If interested, let me know or just post in thread!

[quote author="acpme" date=1211245191]do you always plan out your meals a wk in advance? i'm already hungry and don't know what's for lunch. :(</blockquote>

@_@ Last time when I did a fried chicken run, people complained that I didn't give them enough advanced notice!

yummy

just went to Zion market and picked up 3lbs of pulgogi last night!

30 dollars is a lot. I know the quality is good but I eat A LOT of meat, so id end up spending a bit too much.

So where can i find a place like this in Irvine?

Unfortunately the selection in IRV is a bit limited. If you live near UCI area, you can try Korea House BBQ at 5301 University Drive, behind IHOP.

Check biggestmenu.com for Irvine listings:

But I usually drive to Buena Park for Korean food. Have you tried Wako Honey Pig?

(Put the pork near the top and the bean sprouts below it. The sprouts will soak up the flavoring.)
