I knew magazines used the Great Park/El Toro Air Base runways for car testing but thought this was cool. I've only seen one so far in SoCal.

It?s been well over a year since Porsche first announced the new 911 GT2 RS would become the most powerful road car ever built by the automaker, but it wasn?t until recently that the first deliveries were made. The automaker just released a video of the first batch of deliveries, with the new owners spending some quality time behind the wheels of their new sports cars.
With the first 20 customers of the 911 GT2 RS likely the most enthusiastic for the car?s launch, Porsche devised a proper way to hand off the cars. Hosting a launch party at the El Toro Air Station in Irvine, California, Porsche not only handed off the keys to the first owners, but also gave them some track time with their 620-horsepower 911s. Instructors were on hand to answer technical questions and help owners make the most out of their new toys. Perhaps the most exciting bit about the clip, however, is that the new owners aren?t hesitant to push their new wares to the absolute limit.
First imagined nearly four years ago and designed strictly as an enthusiast project, Porsche engineers extracted some of the best content from the 911 GT2 and GT3 RS and placed them into a separate package. In the pursuit of perfection, Porsche spent 80,000 hours engineering the car, while some 435,000 test miles were logged. Throughout the project, engineers dubbed it ?the beast? and targeted a Nurburgring lap time of 7:27; however, the machine is much more capable, and has since recorded 7:18 on the German track. Powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged horizontally opposed six cylinder, the GT2 RS produces 620 horsepower, making it the most powerful road car ever from the Stuttgart automaker. Top speed reaches 205 mph, while the 0 to 60 mph dash is accomplished in just 3.4 seconds.
Although priced at $245,000, Porsche had no trouble selling its entire run of 500. Now that delivery has begun, picking up a pre-owned model appears to be the only option, but we don?t suspect owners to be parting with them anytime soon.
