Maybe the TI gun thread is warranted--things are going down hill in my village. I better start packing heat when I get my groceries at the Orchard Hills shopping center.

A man wearing a black jacket, white shirt, and black cap robbed an Irvine bank Wednesday morning.

IRVINE ? A man with black marks on his teeth robbed a bank inside a supermarket Wednesday, authorities said.
The man never said a word to the teller, but handed a note and walked away with an undisclosed amount of cash, said Special Agent Chris Gicking of the FBI.

The robbery was reported at about 11:30 a.m., near the intersection of Culver Drive and Portola Parkway, said Lt. Julia Engen of the Irvine Police Department, inside a U.S. Bank inside a Pavilions supermarket.
No one was taken into custody, but the suspect was described as a man between 25 to 35 years old, 6 feet 2 inches tall and thin, Engen said.
"He never said anything as far as an oral demand," Gicking said.
Instead, the man used a note he handed to the teller.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to notify law enforcement.

Advice I have to would-be robbers to is rob a postal contract station instead of a bank. It's a lot easier and they do next to nothing about it. I, personally, have identified and intercepted three separate people who attempted to pull one over on me and rob me blind while working as a postal clerk. It works on most but I'm super picky about verifying details and have a gut feeling about people, their mannerisms, etc. Go to a contract station, ask for several rolls of stamps or a money order and pass a fictitious check. Most clerks are on auto-pilot, blissfully unaware, there's no security and even when you call for help, they just tell you take their check and turn it in - no apprehension. Maddening, to say the least. *

*Disclaimer: I am not actually suggesting you commit a crime, much less a felony but if you're going to do it - be smart about it, not like this guy staring into the camera.

On average bank robberies only net about $4k.  Considering the risk involved, it's much cheaper to just work for the four grand.  >_>
