Elephant Bar Restaurant

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I'd rate it a 3 out of 5...okay food at reasonable prices. If you go there before around 6:30pm, you'll think you're in a retirement home...they must have early-bird specials for seniors.

My buddy who recomended Park Ave in Stanton calls me about two months ago and tells me "I got vetoed, and we're going to the Elephant Bar. What am I getting into?"

I told him it was chain resturant standard, kind of a mix between Chili's and Cheesecake Factory - and IMO way overpriced.

He called me later and let me know I was (as usual) exactly correct.

3/5 I think is fair. It's not a dive. It just isn't really that great.

you are being way too generous. The food is very subpar (1/5) although if you have kids they will probably enjoy the decor.

Everyone's palates is different. I enjoy bitter melons something that a lot of people do not.

They have a special <a href="http://www.elephantbar.com/seniors.htm">senior discount card</a>

I got sick at another elephant bar (i think in san marcos) and haven't eaten at any other since. I thought the food was just mediocre anyway.

Like any restaurant there are hits and misses, but mostly misses. They have this dessert that is fresh baked cookies and ice cream with fudge and caramel sauce, it's really good. The only thing I like on the dinner menu is the orange shrimp, it's quite good but it comes with uncle bens style steamed rice, bleh.
