Santiago Fire - Possible Vehicle of Interest

Anyone driving a vehicle matching this description or knowing of someone driving this vehicle on or around 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2007; is asked to call the OCFA Arson Tip Line at (800) 540-8282.

The Christmas Tree farm on the northwest corner of Santiago Canyon and Silverado Canyon is on top of a portion of the closed Silverado Canyon Disposal Station #9. This municipal waste dump operated from 1947 to 1967. Could gases from this dump have ignited and/or fueled the Santiago Canyon fire? I think so. If anyone wants more information on this dumpsite, please contact me.

Having just now read through this thread from start to finish, after having ignored it after the first few posts, I have to tell you all how pleased I am with the cultural norms of our little community. Last month I got into a debate with a guy in my hiking club while hiking Whiting Ranch (yeah, the area that is now toast between Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills). He casually dismissed our IHB community as being a bunch of "whack-job conspiracy theorists."

I told him that it was very clear to me he either hadn't spent more than 5 minutes reading this blog, or he was just totally illiterate. Because this thread only underscores the point I made to him - we are a gathering of highly intelligent, data-driven, reasonable people who don't allow unsupported or unsubstantiated claims (whether from Realtors or from Environmentalists, whatever) to take hold and manipulate our emotions or actions.

When I posted my first message I didn't know the exact location of the dump. After documenting the location of the dump and the years that it operated, I decided to post my updated information for the residents that live in the area. I'm surprised that there is little concern from locals about this dumpsite. Are you all realtors? Do you know anthing about the dangers of closed dumps? Did you read any of the FEMA report on fires in dumps?

Janice. Please Please. We want to help you. But this fire was not dump related. You dont live around here. And have never experienced our wildfire season. Every 10 years or so some whack job decides to start a fire when the dry winds are at the worst. Last time it was the Laguna fire in 1993. The ocean was the thing that stopped that fire. I drive past that spot almost once a week. Do You ? Have you ever been to Santiago Canyon ? Its so dry and dangerous this time of year. Read the local news. It sounds like law enforcement has some leads and is getting close to who started the fire. Trust me. It was not BigFoot or Sponge Bob or the dump that is way up the hill from the ignition point.
 
i went to the doctor today complaining that i had been shot in the stomach. the doctor concluded i had gotten food poisoning given that i am puking what appears to be chunks of undercooked chicken. and also he said there was no bullet wound. i think this doctor is a quack though because clearly i am feeling discomfort in my stomach and a gunshot wound to that region clearly causes pain. i even double-checked webmd and it confirmed my own diagnosis.

i don't know why he's being so stubborn and showing so little concern for gun control and the potential dangers it can cause to patients.
 
acpme - I think there is spontaneous combustion in your stomach, because you have been using it as a waste disposal site. Please read FEMA clean up instructions. Are you sure your last name isn't Santiago?
