Hey everyone, I am moving into Palmeras next month and I was told Cox is going to call me to set up the service at the new place. The leasing consultant advised that when Cox called, I tell them that I am thinking of switching to dish instead and that would get me a lower rate. Anyone have any luck / advice with doing this? They are ripping me off right now, and wanted to know what sort of discounts you have gotten.

My complex gave me the number for Cox, and I checked out all their deals online before calling them. I got a bundle package that includes basic cable, basic phone and internet access for around $45 a month. I am happy.

What? How the heck did you get that deal? I'm paying like $90/mo for digital cable and internet. :(

You don't even need to wait till they come to install. I just called them up and said dish is cheaper. They have me a $16 "Dish discount" on my bill for a year.

After the year was up, I told them I was going to switch to uverse bc it's much cheaper. They knocked my bill from 160 to 125 for another 6 months.

Just make sure you're talking to the retention guys. To get there, select option to disconnect service.

First, you overpaid on fast foods. Now on cable. Haha! Scman, I understood your post in another thread. I was trying to tell you that I like to post trivial stuffs on here and avoid all the debates. It's too much of a hassle. By the way, I read what someone posted about you. I thought it was rude and uncall for.

Hey, I'll check later on their website. But what if a customer just want basic cable and not the bundle package. Will Cox allow that?

I know, I'm calling those Cox bastards and getting my "dish" discount tomorrow. There was truth in Graph's post, I need to put my money where my mouth is because I've slacked off in the volunteering side. As for pimping my mom or dad out...as I said, they kick ass at what they do so I have no shame doing it. haha

Truth or not. I think certain things shouldn't be said.
