I've been to a number of casinos in CA, both tribal and non-tribal. Chumash Casino is a tribal casino near Solvang and we decided to visit on our Santa Barbara trip.
Initial impression of the casino resort and culture center across the street seemed nice, and the casino was full of patrons on a Sunday evening. Upon closer inspection all sort of warts came out.
Both elevators by parking garage were out of order. Numerous slot machines on the casino floor were out of order. Our entire party (5 adults + baby) lost money on slots immediately - not one winner. Eh? Yes the odds are against you, but at other casinos it's wins some lose some. This one is... ??
The employees are very nice and polite. They seem to be doing good business. So why isn't anyone paying for maintenance/repairs ?
After throwing a couple hundred bucks at the slots we decided to leave. Not going back.
