Remember Adam Polbolsky the writer of Spirit?

He emailed me this article and all parents should bring their kids there.

This is great. Thanks, Bk. The last city I lived in had a great children's museum and I wished there was one in Irvine so I am very happy about this.

Here is their official site: Pretend City

They open August 30. It is located here:

Once kids are in here will be taught how to "keep up with the Joneses" and how to use their houses as ATMs for that? is what Irvine adults do.

(sorry I couldn't resist)

#6 facility has been getting a lot of community pressure to relocation. It has been there since 1963. NIMBYism however prevented other possible locations. Every now and then the high achievers need to go back to the Santa Ana courthouse to speak to the judge. Farther locations will not be feasible for transport. The maximum distance between career enhancement facility and courthouse should be less than a potty stop cycle.

Beads of sweat and heartbeat is pumping too fast out of control. Not me I meant IHO.

We were excited about this 6 years ago when we moved here. Now kids are too old for it.... sigh. I hope those of you with younger kids will enjoy it though!

We are seriously considering this for a 6th birthday party coming up in September. The b-day packages look pretty good....$325 and you get admission for 15 kids AND they get a pass for another admission at a later date (if I'm reading that right?). If true, that's a pretty good deal compared to some of the other birthday rip-offs around town.

Did your wife approve of your avatar? RUN IT BY HER. It looks like a tomb stone. I bet she will have you change it,

If you say she won't like it I don't even need to wake her up to ask, I know what the answer is already. It's gone.

Poor bk... if he only knew where I went a month ago.

Talk about a stretch. It sounds like a lot of fun, but I can't say it sounds anything like any "museum" I have ever been too. Let's call it the Pretend City Museum, which connotes an institution that provides a conventional, valuable learning experience, rather than the Pretend City Kiddie Playtime Emporium, which might sound more like a frivolous waste of time not worthy of $10 a head.

Thanks, it was nice review, definitely worth a visit!

I left three VM's with these jokers over a period of two weeks, trying to get a call back regarding scheduling a birthday party. Still no return call. We moved on to other options. Maybe by next year's b-day their management will be a bit more organized.
