Went here about a month ago for the duck.  Yes they actually set the duck on fire table-side before cutting it.  They also have a table-side glass smoker for the sliced duck.  More show than substance, but fun never the less, at $$$$.  I've had duck at Quanjude by Wangfujing in Beijing (where Nixon dined) and I don't recall being this fancy.  The table side chef does have some decent knife skills.

We ordered a few dishes off the menu, including black colored tofu.  Most weren't that memorable, but the lamb was good.  Like Kyung Bok Kung in Buena Park, this is a restaurant to take your doctor/lawyer/in-law's and visiting family.

>_>  these days, galbi jjim at Sun Nong Dan is already $80.  The duck at Chang'an is $118.

Gone are the days when Se?or Baja fish tacos were 99 cents on Mondays and Wednesdays...

I've got this place bookmarked as a go-to when the in-laws come in from Asia. It is way too fancy for us otherwise.

Also good for visiting relatives, KBK in Buena Park (https://kyungbokkungusa.com) for their course meals, the Ranch in Anaheim (https://www.theranch.com) for Cowboy Ribeye, and Ramos House in San Juan Capistrano (https://www.ramoshouse.com) for breakfast.

Roger's Gardens (https://farmhouse.rogersgardens.com) in Newport might also be an interesting place to take them.

We ended up taking them to Meizhou Dongpo in Irvine. I was kind of disappointed but it was a decision-by-consensus..

The service was great, and if I have a future client from Mainland I'd take them there for sure (the private rooms are nice), but otherwise not that memorable considering price of over $100/head.
