The U.S. Marshal Service will be auctioning off over 400 of Madoff's personal belongings. The items include his expensive shoe collection, a 10.5 carat diamond ring, antique Steinway piano, his desk and bronze paperweight in the shape of a bull. The proceeds, along with that of his three homes which have already been liquidated by officials, will be used to compensate the victims of his $65-billion Ponzi scheme.
He just completed his first year behind bars. Only 149 years left to go.
