We'll do the reverse of what is listed in the Description so that we have a nice view of the ocean as we descend. The description states this is a 'Moderate' hike and I imagine it will take 2-2.5 hours.

We'll meet up at the Parking Lot at 6:15am and head out soon after.

Directions (from the Fashion Island area of Newport): Take PCH South. A little after you pass the Crystal Cove shopping center, keep an eye out for signs to Crystal Cove State Park and a look out for a small school. Make a left (I think the street is El Moro) as if you are going to the school and then follow the signs to the lot. There is a $10 fee per car and you pay that at the visitor center.

I hope that some of you will join in! :)

Beautiful morning! The hike went well. There were three of us: me, ohnelly, and SYDNEY (long time lurker).

According to my Garmin, it was about 5 miles and took us a little under 2 hours. After the hike ohnelly and I went to Einstein Bros and ran into ipo! ;)

Yep, hike was nice, company was nice and weather was very nice! The views were outstanding this morning and we couldn't have asked for a better hiking day. When we got there, it wasn't so crowded but we definitely saw a lot more people on the way down who were getting started when we were wrapping up. I needed two breaks on the steep/uphill part :red:

Oh, so that's why you smelled the way you did... :)

Einsteins would make a nice place for a small IHB meet-up on a Sunday morning.
