my concern with the school there (SVUSD) is that they have been closing schools since 2020, if you stick with the house and public school you might end up driving kids to school everyday - comparing to Irvine where most schools are within walking distances.

yep I asked myself this question today - no - we are bugging out of CA as soon as kids are college. We spent many years in VA/OH/WI during early 20-30s, we might just follow kids somehow if that comes down to where to retire.

South Coast Plaza DTF has been somewhat disappointing imo, I went to two locations in Seattle and they had much better food and services.
